Genre: Alt-Pop

“The Sun Will Come Again” is a song that addresses the dismal state of society. When all of the content that the media publishes dwells on evil things, it is hard not to sink into despair. We get so caught up in the bad things happening around the world that we miss the good things happening right in front of us. This song serves as a reminder that there is still good in the world.

The song starts in the key of B minor, emphasizing the heavy atmosphere that the lyrics describe. We began with an introductory verse that describes the distressed emotions we feel using imagery. The next two verses acknowledge those feelings and describe the state of the world. In the pre-chorus, the melody makes a slight transition to the enharmonic, D major, as the lyrics start reminding us of the beauty in the world. The shift becomes clear harmonically in the chorus as the lyrics turn our attention to hope. The B minor chord at the end of the first chorus takes us to the bridge, which is a moment of anguish as the singer hopes for the listener to understand. That chord is changed to D major at the end of the final chorus to signify the brighter view we now have.
